On the small island of St. Jorge, Azores, Fernando was born. From a young age, he carefully watched his mother and grandmother spend hours in the kitchen using fresh, local ingredients, to prepare their traditional family recipes, and thus his appreciation of cooking was ignited at just seven years old.
After working at several restaurants, he formalized his training at George Brown College, graduating with a diploma in Culinary Arts, and achieving his Red Seal Certification. This led to roles at several prestigious hotels and catering companies, in Hamilton and Toronto.
With only the finest ingredients gis delectable menus cater to a broad range of tastes, while his constant attention to food and cooking trends keeps his cuisine innovative and original.
Chris Pitula is a veteran chef with over 25 years of experience working in various food establishments including hotels, banquet halls, fine dining, golf courses and private catering.
Chris has travelled Europe learning from some top chefs from the Netherlands, Spain, Germany and the famous Waldorf Hilton in London. Chris joined the Mississauga Convention Center in 2006 where he worked under Chef Fernando Brasil for over 15 years cooking various Portuguese dishes for events such as weddings, baptisms, confirmations, and ball dinners with up to 2000 people. Chris has now formed a partnership with Chef Fernando Brasil to continue his culinary journey and cater your dream events.
